Halving & Reward Schedule
Track block reward countdowns and halving schedules for all supported coins.
What is the halving? Every 210,000 blocks (~4 years), the BCH block reward is cut in half. This is Bitcoin Cash's built-in supply schedule — reducing new BCH issuance over time. The date estimate assumes a 10-minute average block time but actual timing will vary.
Bitcoin halving. Every 210,000 blocks (~4 years) the BTC block reward is cut in half. The 5th halving occurred at block 840,000 in April 2024. The 6th halving will occur at block 1,050,000.
eCash (XEC) halving. XEC follows the same 210,000-block halving schedule as BCH and BTC. XEC uses a 1,000,000x redenomination relative to the original Bitcoin unit. Halvings happen at the same block heights as Bitcoin.
per month
DGB doesn't halve — it reduces gradually. DigiByte uses a smooth emission model where the block reward decreases by approximately 1% every 10,080 blocks (~1.75 days). There is no single "halving" event — the reward declines continuously over time.
hybrid chain
Peercoin has no halving. Peercoin pioneered Proof of Stake. PoW mining provides initial coin distribution and security, with a dynamic reward of approximately 9,999 / difficulty. Proof of Stake minting earns ~1% annual inflation for coin holders. There is no fixed halving schedule — the PoW reward naturally decreases as difficulty rises over time.
Namecoin halving. Namecoin follows the same 210,000-block halving schedule as Bitcoin. NMC launched in April 2011 as the first altcoin. Blocks are merge-mined with Bitcoin — miners earn NMC for free alongside BTC rewards. Pool fee is 0% at launch.
BitcoinII halving. BC2 follows the same 210,000-block halving schedule as Bitcoin. Each halving cuts the block reward in half. The date estimate assumes a 10-minute average block time but actual timing depends on network hashrate.
Bitcoin Cash II halving. BCH2 follows the same 210,000-block halving schedule as Bitcoin Cash. Each halving cuts the block reward in half. The date estimate assumes a 10-minute average block time but actual timing depends on network hashrate.
