Common questions.

Native SegWit (bc1q...) is recommended. Legacy (1...) and P2SH (3...) also work.
Use port 3337 for small miners (Bitaxe etc). Use port 4337 if you're running large ASICs like an S21.
Yes — merged mining is automatic. Include your NMC address in your username as btcaddr.worker.NmcAddress and you'll receive NMC rewards whenever your shares also solve a Namecoin block.
Check the share count in your miner's web interface. If it's going up, you're connected. You can also check solopool.eu/miner with your BTC address.
Almost certainly not. BTC difficulty is extremely high. At 1 TH/s, the expected time to find a solo block is thousands of years. Mining BTC solo is a long-odds lottery — shares submitting means everything is working.
Yes. Use port 3338 for TLS (standard) or 4338 for high-hashrate TLS.
